OFFICE REFURB IS NEWCASTLE’S LARGEST OUT OF TOWN LETTING FOR TWO YEARS
Sadler Brown Architecture have just completed a £2million building refurbishment of Balliol House, a 30,000sq ft out of town office space in Newcastle.
We delivered the core design of the building, with exposed services and architectural lighting which gave the building a more modern and collaborative feel, different from other out of town developments in the area.
The space is currently being let by the Mayborn Group, who are the owners of Tommee Tippee. The building will bring all 160 of the firms staff under the same roof, allowing space for global expansion. The firm’s CEO Steve Parkin hopes the colourful and creative environment will attract staff keen to join the company.
The full interior design and fit out of this workplace was completed by Yorkshire and Newcastle-based Ben Johnson Interiors. Each floor has open plan working with an abundance of breakout areas and meeting rooms, contributing to a contemporary way of working. Tommee Tippee products are visible in every part of the building including a lighting feature made of hundreds of feeding bottles.
Every floor has a kitchen area for staff, but it’s the ground floor hub area where clients and employees can spend time that will draw the most attention with its bleacher-style seats alongside comfy chairs and sofas, a pool table as well as the neighbouring room’s play park area with numerous meeting rooms. High tech conferencing facilities to better connect the HQ with its global markets have also been installed, as well as electric car charging points and cycle to work facilities.
