David enjoys the coordination aspects of working within multidisciplinary teams; majoring on large, complex and technically demanding projects.
He studied Architecture at The University of Sheffield before practicing with Grimshaw in Australia. After returning to the UK, he completed his Postgraduate studies at the Glasgow School of Art. With significant works in North America and the Middle East along the way; his experience includes the design and delivery of a series of significant hospitals through to new-build railway stations and infrastructure commissions.
A keen collaborator, David advocates of the benefits of BIM and has championed it as a tool for a growing number of the practices projects. Currently working closely alongside Creative Director Kevin Brown and some of the UK’s leading Landscape Architects and Engineers, David has been developing proposals for innovative projects in more rural settings, including a zero-carbon off-grid estate at an energy farm in southern England.
Within the studio David leads the learning and knowledge sharing programme and regularly facilitates in-house design reviews. Beyond the practice he has hosted an ArchiGRAD studio unit, and since 2015 has been teaching at Newcastle University : School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape.
