Nelson is a town where Lancashire & Yorkshire cultures meet within a unique important landscape setting.

The main philosophy of our proposal is the tuning of the town centre by using Nelson’s significant assets and making minimal alterations to produce maximum focusing on the real heart of the town.

The strategy to be followed is to embed art in the fabric of the town and in a process of regeneration with urban design/architecture/art as a seamless integrated effort offering both a solution to the brief and a sustainable, exciting perspective for the future.

To successfully implement the proposal, the project is divided into 4 phases where:
phase 1-Initials, phase 2-Densification, phase 3-Expansions and phase 4-Consolidation, to homogenize within the existing space syntax .

Our aspirations from our proposals are to make this project the start of something much more significant and every Nelsoner can be a potential investor in the public life of the streetscape.

Our proposed scheme has gained the 1st prize from around 50 competitors and has succeeded six other teams of very well known architectural practices.
